And So to Bed - Event

Wednesday, 30 November 2016

I was recently kindly invited to the And So To  Bed Event by the Hilgate PR , it truly is the home of the most beautiful and luxurious beds and bedroom accesories.

The event not only showcased the stunning beds but  the launch the newest Airloom mattresses which are unbelievably comfortable , I had the opportunity to sit down and test them out and it is by far the comfiest matters I have yet had the chance to test . The mattress itself tends to be between 12-16 inches thick , being made out of various layers such as regular foam, memory foam, tally latex , cashmere, cotton and wool gives it a comfort layer that is out there. incomparable to any other mattresses out there.

And so to  beds offer their own range of fabrics in which all beds can be upholstered however they are also able to offer the service of upholstering it with a fabric of your own as long as it meets the UK fabric regulations.

This velvet green bed was one of my ultimate favourites and a true statement piece within any bedroom, with the beautiful brass detail this bed is bound to add a luxury and sophisticated feel to a bedroom.

This chrome traditional bed above is another luxury feeling yet a little more toned down bed.

And so to be Beds also have a range of your Traditional Velvet bed with a built in headboard perfect for a more relaxed bedroom feel.

As seen in the photos , And So To Beds offer a range of headboard styles, from padded, square to even curved styles. This allows the potential client to have the option to make their bed as personalised as they like, the studded details adds a nice touch to the headboard below whilst still keeping it toned down.

The photos showcase their stunning bedroom design , whether your looking for  a new bed or are an Interior Designer like myself And So To  Beds is a perfect place for it.

NYC INSPIRED LOFT APARTMENTS

Monday, 4 January 2016

Small yet beautiful spaces where you feel at home. I personally absolutely love the not so spacious NYC inspired loft apartments. Theres something unique & beautiful about them. Despite them not always being fully furnished as some may say for instance as in the first photo below I absolutely love the simple decor. The second apartment has slightly different industrial approach to it whilst still having a homey feel to it. The brick wall has a specific look to the apartment which I am very fond of.

The photo below shows a more homey / modern approach to the loft apartment inspired look , once again absolutely stunning with a simple colour palette and slight pop of colour.

The photo above shows a slightly subtle approach on the inside brick wall look, its a lot softer yet still beautiful. A NYC apartment or somewhat inspired lichees is somewhere I would like to live at at some point or have the chance to decorate being a designer myself.

What are your thoughts on NYC inspired apartments?

Personally I feel that Interior Design and Fashion go hand in hand together, both world's have constantly changing trends, styles etc. and both are pretty tricky to keep up with as there are new designs and style evolving everyday.

A pure white sofa: the foundation for interior decor in 2015

Thursday, 29 January 2015

It is no surprise to anyone that the white colour has been dominating in the interior design world , it has been seen pretty much everywhere from decor magazines, instagram , they have even become part of our own home/houses/ room interiors. Today I have an article to share with you in regards to what 2015 and the colour white have to offer.
Of course an all white interior is not everyone's cup of tea however for 2015 it seems that a pure white sofa is the key comp omen in ' a home otherwise dominated by colour according to the design team at Bemz.' whom are an online Swedish online retail company known for a wide range of covers for the well known Ikea Furniture and many other textile products. They have introduced a new textile .. Belgian Linen Blend in addition to their already popular range of Absolute white fabrics.

DETTOL CAMPAIGN 'How far will you go to avoid the doorknob?'

Wednesday, 7 January 2015

I was recently contacted by Spink Healthcare PR about a very interesting and relatable to pretty much all of us topic of the importance of staying healthy during the winter season as it very popular for flu's and colds. Dettol have come up with a video showcasing what a lot of us tend to do in order to avoid touching objects in public places we don't necessary want to , its actually a very interesting and truth telling clip , it made me giggle but it also brings out the importance of sanitising our hands and making sure we do take that extra step which really does help our health and could prevent us from getting ill.

BLUE AND WHITE CHRISTMAS HOME DECOR FT. JOHN LEWIS

Monday, 24 November 2014

The Christmas Season is nearly here and that means we are all not only doing our christmas shopping but also decorating our houses and adding that Seasonal Christmasy and cosy feel to our interiors. Red is the traditional colour that we all associate with Christmas however there are so many other beautiful ways to decorate your living space with different colour palettes. Today I have put together a beautiful Blue and White Scheme featuring John Lewis's christmas decor accessories which I personally think are absolutely beautiful. The great thing about this scheme below is that some of these items such as the quote cushion and the deer accessory is something that can stay up all year around making it a great investment piece for your home.

What do you think of a blue Christmas Decor Interior?

CHRISTMAS LOUNGE DECOR IDEAS 2014

Wednesday, 12 November 2014

I think it is fair to say that pretty much most of us get very excited around this time of the year as Christmas is slowly approaching us. This time of the years has a magical feel to it and  in my family it is a tradition to always deeply embrace it and with that comes the decor of the house.  I have come up with two pretty simple and basic Christmas Decorating Ideas to give you a little bit of inspiration of ways to style your houses or apartments.

What's great about the schemes I have come up with is that apart from the obvious decor items such as the reindeer heads, christmas wall art and of course it wouldn't be christmas without a christmas tree most items can be used within your decor throughout the whole year which is great for anyone on the budget or if you would  like to decorate in a what I like to call multi tasking way where items can have a multiple purpose.

SCHEME ONE : SOFT GREYS, CREAMS AND POPS OF GOLD

Christmas Silver & Gold Decor

In the scheme above the colours are more toned down however to add a bit of contrast the gorgeous Log Rack from Thos Baker has been used this great piece not only adds a very chrstmasy feel to the interior but will also add a bit of warmth to the space throughout the whole year. The Bobby Berk Coffee Table  with a gorgeous shagreen perimeter works beautifully with the Arhaus Sofa whilst the slight pops of gold with the Candle , Faux Table Flowers and the Reindeer Ornament add a nice pop of contrasting colour without taking away from the neutral overall scheme. The Grey Cushion and Cream Cushion are very subtle however because of the faux fur texture they add a nice soft feel to the scheme whilst the Lamp is more of an industrial style item which works very well with the table.

SCHEME TWO: DARK GREYS, CHROMES  AND WHITES

Grey & Wood Christmas Decor

Whilst this scheme is still quiet subtle and neutral darker tones have been used with more industrial style items which give this scheme a more masculine look. The Sofa adds the most drama to the room with its dark grey tones however to add a more feminine feel to the space the Kathy Kuo Cushions and faux fur Blanket are both very subtle soft and with its textures as well as the subtle print on the white cushion. The rusticy items such as the Coffee Table, Console, and Eicholtz Trunk add a strong and bold look to the scheme which once again works perfectly for christmas and throughout the year.

APOLLO BLINDS: TWILIGHT

Tuesday, 30 September 2014

Today's post features the latest made to measure blinds  by Apollo Blinds called Twilight.  " Twilight is an innovative and stylish new way of managing light in any room in any home. Its unique duo roller fabric system incorporates both solid and sheer fabric panels which provides varying degrees of light or shade. Functional and gorgeous…"

Being an interior designer I can be quiet picky when it comes to decor however having looked at the concept and style I personally think these would look great in many different settings to show you how to incorporate these blinds in to your preferred setting I produced two schemes where I included the new blind which is being launched by the Apollo Blind Brand.

First is this bedroom seen in the composition I put together below. I love the neutral grey combo with a pop of an aqua blue it adds a vibrant touch to the room whilst the earthy tones still keep it cosy . Contrast adds a bit of drama to the bedroom which personally I like as it creates a more interesting feel to the space.

SHOP THE LOOK: BED | BEDSIDE TABLE | LAMP | RUG | TRUNK | PAINTING |

The second design I produced was based around a lounge room setting, this time I kept it quiet minimal yet still interesting due to the various textures and tones seen in the furniture items. The setting is very moody and the pop of gold gives it a luxury feel to the space.

SHOP THE  LOOK: COFFEE TABLE | SOFA | LAMP | RUG  | MIRROR

Both settings that I have designed fit in with the Twilight Blind design , due to the simplistic and minimalistic design they are very easy to incorporate in to your own room setting. I designed completely two different settings in order for you to see that they are super versatile and look great within a room setting.
