APOLLO BLINDS: TWILIGHT

Tuesday 30 September 2014

Today's post features the latest made to measure blinds  by Apollo Blinds called Twilight.  " Twilight is an innovative and stylish new way of managing light in any room in any home. Its unique duo roller fabric system incorporates both solid and sheer fabric panels which provides varying degrees of light or shade. Functional and gorgeous…"

Being an interior designer I can be quiet picky when it comes to decor however having looked at the concept and style I personally think these would look great in many different settings to show you how to incorporate these blinds in to your preferred setting I produced two schemes where I included the new blind which is being launched by the Apollo Blind Brand.

First is this bedroom seen in the composition I put together below. I love the neutral grey combo with a pop of an aqua blue it adds a vibrant touch to the room whilst the earthy tones still keep it cosy . Contrast adds a bit of drama to the bedroom which personally I like as it creates a more interesting feel to the space.

The second design I produced was based around a lounge room setting, this time I kept it quiet minimal yet still interesting due to the various textures and tones seen in the furniture items. The setting is very moody and the pop of gold gives it a luxury feel to the space.

Both settings that I have designed fit in with the Twilight Blind design , due to the simplistic and minimalistic design they are very easy to incorporate in to your own room setting. I designed completely two different settings in order for you to see that they are super versatile and look great within a room setting. Yellow & Grey Bedroom & Lounge Decor

Thursday 14 August 2014

Grey and Yellow tones have been one of my favourite combinations at the moment , the grey gives the space a lovely neutral and earthy toned vibe whilst the yellow adds that little bit of pop of colour without being over dramatic. Today's post is based around how one space can be used for different purposes. I love this beach house setting whether you'd prefer it as a lounge or a bedroom with a view I have put together two design ideas to give you  a little bit of inspiration on how the two could easily transform this space to beautiful setting, if only we all had a beach house like this ey?! ;)

Although the colour palette has been kept pretty simple throughout the design , in order to give it an interesting look I have used various textures, patterns and tones of the natural colours to still give the design that 'designer' look. The mixture of chrome and gold work well in this scheme and I feel like the yellow accessories and touches bring it all together.

It can be quiet hard to source the exact items sometimes as for example the chair has been upholstered in the Casablanca from DwellStudio Fabric, having said that below I have sourced some of the items I used in the design if you were to recreate the look or were interested where to find some of these beautiful pieces used in the lounge setting above.

The bedroom decor above has a very similar feel to the lounge decor above, this would be a beautiful view to wake up to for sure. The gold and yellow tones add warmth to the overall feel to bedroom.

BRIGHT COLOURS ACCESORIES

Whether it be fashion or interior trend they change and evolve constantly and just like we follow the fashion ones we tend to look up to the decor and interior design ones too because let's be honest we all like a bit of change sometimes. Whilst there is no need to go and splurge on a whole new decor for the entire house it's great to incorporate the trend into the decor we already own.

It is pretty easy to do so with this color pop trend of course you have to work with the color scheme you have to make sure the colors flow and compliment each other but at the same time do not be scared to be daring as bright pops of color can have a huge impact of on the look and feel of a room.

Above I have sourced a few items which I personally think would be a great add on to an existing room to re-create the trend within a room. I absolutely adore this BOEM CUSHION , the colors are stunning , paired with the ROYAL BLUE RUG I personally think would look beautiful  within a bedroom setting.

Forget your traditional sofa styles because this  CLEVELAND SOFA
is the way to go if you want to add a modern touch to your lounge. The unusual shape adds a strong visual impact making your room a look very contemporary and designed.

The YELLOW CAST LAMP is a great statement piece not only because of the geometric shape but finish of it, whether you'd put it in a bedroom or lounge it would really bring in some colour and eye catching attention.

The bold PINK CHAIR  will for sure not be everyone's cup of tea but put it in a monochrome designed room  it will add a gorgeous splash of color . Although this room set below is a very bold and bright statement making decor it is minimalistic at the same time.

The bright colored trend is a good one as it can be easily adapted to your own personal style by the use of your choice of colors. With such a vast choice of colors your bound to find something that works for you. You can go as bright and bold as you like or as toned down as you like by adding a pop of color with pastels which can also look very flaterring providing you with a softer look.
